Job summary

Mob Entertainment is seeking a Senior Writer for its rapid prototyping Skunk Works team. The role focuses on refining concepts, shaping narrative structure, and defining tone and mood for prototype worlds, including characters and arcs that could support episodic content.

You will storyboard beats, collaborate with design and art, and communicate clearly with stakeholders in a remote-first environment. A proven game-writing track record is required.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years writing for games.
  • Storyboarding experience in games, TV, and / or movies.
  • Strong understanding and passion for soft/gray in-world storytelling.
  • Solid communication and collaboration skills in a remote-first environment.
  • Service-based attitude. You thrill in bringing worlds and characters to life, regardless of origin.

Responsibilities

  • Play a critical role in reviewing, clarifying and refining game concepts from a backlog.
  • Interpret concepts with authors, manifesting narrative arcs for each concept that could sustain episodic content.
  • Using the premise of any given concept, you define plot, theme, tone, mood and create characters and settings to inform the prototype efforts.
  • Story boarding story beats to inform development of prototypes.
  • Advise and critique co-dev teams’ prototype work where necessary.
  • Drive the organization and conducting of recording sessions for story-based audio.
