Overview
Physicians Mutual is looking for an experienced Senior Workflow Developer to join our Enterprise Technology Group. In this role, you’ll design, develop, support and improve business processes and workflow and scanning solutions that are critical to our operations.
A significant focus of this position will be BPM/workflow and scanning development in Case360 (similar to Appian, Pega, etc.) and Tungsten TotalAgility (KTA), including workflow and process design, integrations, troubleshooting and ongoing solution support. You'll also contribute to the evolution and modernization of our scanning technology, including migration from existing Kofax/KTM solutions.
This is a senior-level opportunity for a developer who can take ownership of assignments, work independently and apply sound judgment to complex technical challenges. We’re looking for someone who is technically strong and equally effective at communicating, collaborating and sharing knowledge with others.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, enhance, test and support business process and workflow solutions, with a significant focus on Tungsten TotalAgility and OpenText Case360 (similar to Appian, Pega, etc.)
- Develop and maintain workflows, processes, forms and integrations that support business operations.
- Contribute to modernization and migration efforts involving existing KTM/Kofax solutions.
- Take ownership of development assignments from planning and estimation through implementation, testing and production support.
- Analyze existing systems and business processes to identify practical opportunities for improvement.
- Troubleshoot complex application and production issues, perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions.
- Design application logic and develop reliable, maintainable code using established standards and best practices.
- Work with APIs, databases, web services and enterprise application integrations.
- Perform unit testing and assist with integration, system and post-production testing to ensure solutions meet business and technical requirements.
- Support enterprise applications in a production environment and help ensure issues are resolved accurately and within required timelines.
- Collaborate with software engineers, architects, business systems analysts, testers, system administrators and business partners.
- Participate in code and design reviews and help ensure solutions follow established development frameworks and standards.
- Create and maintain technical and application documentation.
- Communicate technical decisions, risks and concerns clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
- Share technical knowledge and provide guidance and support to team members.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science.
- Minimum of five years of programming experience.
- Strong experience with Tungsten TotalAgility, OpenText Case360, Appian, Pega, etc. including workflow or process design, forms, integrations, troubleshooting and solution support.
- Solid understanding of business process automation, workflow design, case management and system integration.
- Agile or other software development life cycle methodologies.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in a production environment.
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience working with databases.
- Experience working with APIs, databases, web services and enterprise application integrations.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, including the ability to identify root causes and resolve complex application and production issues.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of assignments and manage priorities through completion.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams, business partners and other stakeholders.
Preferred
- C#/.NET development.
- Workflow and case management platforms such as OpenText Case360 or similar technologies.
- Tungsten TotalAgility certifications.
- Java and modern JavaScript technologies such as React or Angular.
- APIs and micro services, including REST, SOAP or GraphQL.
- Messaging or event-driven technologies such as Kafka, AWS SNS, AWS SQS or MQ.
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- Application security concepts and technologies such as OAuth 2.0, JWT and role-based access control.
