Job summary

Amerisure Insurance is seeking a WC Claims Resolution Specialist – Special Risk Policyholders. The role manages workers’ compensation claims for loss-sensitive programs, conducts investigations, evaluates coverage, and resolves claims with strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims (medium to high severity/complexity).
• Ability to obtain appropriate state licensing as required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; strong analytical and written communication skills.
• Willingness to travel overnight up to 15%.

Responsibilities

• Investigate losses, determine coverage, assess compensability and review documents.
• Collaborate with legal counsel to manage litigated claims and analyze proceedings.
• Develop and execute proactive resolution strategies, including negotiations and settlements.
• Establish and maintain claim reserves reflecting financial exposure and communicate updates.
• Identify external resources to facilitate proper resolution while controlling costs.
• Work with insureds and providers to facilitate timely return to work when appropriate.
• Collaborate with agents and stakeholders to analyze claim trends and mitigation strategies.
• Prepare detailed claim summaries, reserve updates and analyses for parties involved.
