Job summary

Mobomo, LLC seeks a Senior WordPress Engineer to lead architecture, development, and maintenance of a delivery framework for migrating diverse sites to WordPress (Gutenberg). You will guide design and coding, integrate with APIs, and ensure accessibility and performance across multiple custom frameworks.

As a team leader, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional groups, deliver on deadlines, and mentor peers while advancing feature-rich WordPress solutions in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

• Strong WordPress expertise including APIs, theme hierarchy and Gutenberg blocks.
• Experience migrating sites to WordPress (Gutenberg).
• Must have AEM experience or certification.
• Frontend skills: HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, React, ES6+.
• Proficient in MySQL, Git, and agile workflows.
• Experience with Jira and Slack for team collaboration.
• Ability to document code and maintain accessibility standards.
• US citizenship and able to obtain security clearance.

• Support existing client websites and migrate to WordPress (Gutenberg).

Job description

We are seeking a Senior WordPress Engineer to lead the architecture, development, and maintenance of a delivery framework for migrating various websites to WordPress (Gutenberg). As a team leader, you will blend design and programming disciplines to implement migrations, enhance features, and maintain multiple custom frameworks, ensuring application accessibility and performance. You will closely interface with existing teams to optimize site applications.

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to “scope of build” discussions with development team, project managers, designers, and other developers.

Skills and Requirements:

• Strong understanding of WordPress APIs, theme hierarchy, and custom Gutenberg block development.
• Must have AEM experience or certification.
• Experience in migrating websites to WordPress (Gutenberg) is highly desired.
• Proficient in WordPress theme and block accessibility.
• Expertise in HTML5, CSS3, Sass, JavaScript, jQuery, React (Gutenberg), ES6+.
• Proficient in MySQL.
• Strong understanding of version control tools, such as Git.
• Proficiency with modern team and project management tools like Jira and Slack.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Knowledge of front-end testing and tooling.
• Understanding of npm task runners such as WebPack.
• Must be a US citizen and able to obtain a security clearance.
• Understanding of Python classes and development.

Bonus Experience:

• WP CLI experience.
• WP VIP experience (Docker / WP VIP CLI).
• Python experience for data extraction and migration to Gutenberg.
