Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Wireless Firmware Engineer for the Starlink Mobile program. The role involves developing PHY algorithms for satellite 4G/5G, optimizing signal processing on constrained hardware, and validating system performance through modelling and simulations.

You will work closely with wireless systems and protocol firmware engineers to advance STARLINK missions. We require strong C/C++ coding skills, experience with wireless signal processing, and Linux/Git proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD in a STEM field.
• 5+ years of experience in wireless signal processing, modem systems or PHY processing.
• 5+ years of C/C++ coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement PHY algorithms for satellite-based 4G/5G eNodeB/gNodeB.
• Develop optimized signal processing for resource-constrained CPUs.
• Model and simulate system performance including modem performance.
• Design, implement, test and document wireless PHY/MAC layers.
• Identify and debug performance issues across PHY and MAC layers.
• Participate in architecture/design reviews and assist hardware dimensioning.
