Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Wireless Control Systems Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of cellular modem systems, from feature design through silicon bring-up for 6G/5G and 4G 3GPP features.

You will collaborate across SoC, PHY, FW, and L1 SW teams to meet system requirements and deliver optimized performance and power efficiency. Responsibilities include defining system-level features for next-gen modems, linking 3GPP requirements to hardware architectures, and developing control algorithms

Qualifications

  • BS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; 10+ years in Layer 1 control design.
  • Strong knowledge of 6G/5G NR and 4G LTE, with focus on RAN1/3GPP concepts.
  • Deep grounding in communication theory: LDPC, Polar, Turbo coding, OFDM, MIMO, estimation.

Responsibilities

  • Define & architect system-level features for next-gen cellular modems with 6G focus.
  • Own end-to-end system view linking 3GPP requirements to HW/FW architecture and targets.
  • Design control algorithms (traditional or AI/ML-based) for PHY/L1 control.
  • Construct interfaces and message flows across layers for wireless features.
  • Model & simulate algorithms in MATLAB/C/C++/Python; validate with link-level data.
  • Drive performance and power efficiency improvements across the wireless stack.
