Job summary

Nevada Department of Wildlife is seeking a Biologist in the Biodiversity Division to conduct wildlife and habitat management for mammals, birds, bats, and reptiles across the state. The role involves surveys, data analysis, and collaborating with multiple NDOW divisions to implement the State Wildlife Action Plan.

Regular travel and outdoor work are required; applicants should be comfortable camping in remote areas, hiking long distances, and enduring inclement weather.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biology, wildlife management or closely related field and three years of professional wildlife management experience.
• Experience with surveys, data collection, analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work in outdoor conditions, travel frequently, and coordinate with partners and other agencies.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and implement non-game wildlife management in the western region.
• Develop and implement wildlife surveys and habitat management activities.
• Prepare data into reports and analyses; coordinate with partners and divisions for conservation actions.
• Assist with endangered species management and recovery actions.
• Communicate with outside agencies, the public and stakeholders; prepare presentations and press materials.
