Job summary

Iona Senior Services in Washington, DC is seeking a part-time Ward 2 Recreation Coordinator to lead congregate dining site activities for seniors 60+. The role runs 9:30 am–2:30 pm, 25 hours weekly, with daily site operations and chaperone duties on trips.

You will implement wellness programs, manage registrations, and coordinate with the AOM and Nutrition Coordinator to ensure welcoming, well-run dining and activity spaces.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of related work experience.
• Strong relationship building and collaboration skills.
• Experience with Zoom and Microsoft platforms (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel).
• CPR, first aid and ServSafe certificates.
• Able to regularly lift, carry and maneuver 25+ lbs.
• Bilingual (Spanish) is an asset but not required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and lead recreational activities for seniors.
• Adapt programs to varying physical and cognitive abilities for inclusive participation.
• Support daily site operations and assist with meal service flow.
• Collaborate with staff and volunteers to ensure safe, welcoming activities.
• Maintain an up-to-date inventory of recreational supplies and order materials.
