Job summary

RWDY Inc. seeks a Project Well Planner IV to design complex well plans for a multi-well drilling program in the Permian region. You will collaborate with the drilling team to optimize performance and ensure wellbore accuracy using Landmark EDM (Compass) and AutoCAD.

The role requires 5+ years of well planning experience, 1+ years with an oil & gas operator, and experience in unconventional plays. On-call availability is expected; position based in Midland, TX.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• 5 years of well planning experience in upstream oil & gas required.
• 1+ years working directly for an oil & gas operating company required.
• 1+ years of experience in unconventional reservoir plays required.
• Able and willing to be on call outside standard working hours.

Responsibilities

• Design complex well plans for a multi-well/multi-pad drilling program.
• Collaborate with the drilling team to optimize performance in a fast-paced horizontal program.
• Apply knowledge of survey programs to ensure wellbore positioning accuracy.
• Gather and interpret offset well data for collision avoidance analysis.
• Generate preliminary anti-collision reports and plots for project review.
• Ensure regulatory permitting and execution compliance with state/federal regs.
• Coordinate with core disciplines to integrate objectives into development plans.
• Communicate with Planning Teams to provide design constraint options.
• Track project progression from concept to execution.
• Use Landmark EDM (Compass) at expert level and manage the database.
• Use AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite proficiently.
• Participate in COP benchmarking studies to apply best practices.
• Evaluate applications of new well planning technology.
