System One is seeking a Senior Welding Engineer for a yearlong contract in Bellevue, WA. This role involves developing welding processes and qualifying techniques for nuclear reactor core internals. The engineer will participate in a high-functioning team dedicated to next-generation materials for sodium-cooled fast reactors.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and at least 6 years of experience, with strong metallurgy knowledge and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3 years with a Master's degree.
• Solid understanding of metallurgy and fabrication processes of ferrous and nonferrous alloys.
• Ability to work independently to solve complex problems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and qualify welding techniques for nuclear reactor core internals.
• Conduct welding process development for various steels using multiple technologies.
• Oversee weld equipment operations and generate test coupons.
