Job summary

WesTech Engineering is seeking a skilled Fitter/Welder to read and interpret engineering drawings, perform layout and fit-up, and complete welding on complex assemblies. You will work with fabrication equipment, read blueprints, and ensure quality while maintaining a safe shop.

The role requires 3–5 years of welding and fabrication experience, FCAW and GMAW expertise, and the ability to pass a 6G test. This is a hands-on position in a collaborative manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of welding and fabrication experience.
• Ability to read fabrication drawings and welding symbols.
• Experience FCAW (Dual Shield) and GMAW (Hard Wire).
• 6G welding certification or ability to pass testing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret engineering drawings and welding symbols.
• Fit and assemble complex components using approved fabrication and welding procedures.
• Perform FCAW (Dual Shield) and GMAW (Hard Wire) welding in multiple positions.
• Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions to meet requirements.
• Operate MIG welding equipment and maintain tools and machines.
