Job description

About Stamos Capital Partners and the Partner Capital Group

Stamos Capital Partners, L.P. (“SCP” or the “Firm”) is an independent, privately owned investment management firm with more than $7.6 billion in assets under management. Our primary mission is to serve high-net-worth individuals, family offices, private foundations, endowments, trusts, and other clients that share the Firm’s core values. We seek to preserve and build wealth for our clients and investors through sophisticated, multi-asset class investment solutions on a global basis.

The Partner Capital Group (“PCG”) is the firm's wealth management group: a focused internal team that treats each of our investment families or endowments as a “partner”, offering institutional-quality solutions, public- and private-market access on a global basis, and integrated planning.

As a member of the Firm’s PCG team, you will play an active role in (a) understanding the objectives of our investment partners, (b) communicating the Firm’s macroeconomic and asset allocation views, (c) assisting in developing wealth management and investment strategies based on these views and objectives, and (d) communicating the performance of these strategies relative to these objectives.

The Role

Your role is to serve as the day-to-day lead contact with and advisor for a core group of the Firm’s investment partners. In this role, you “own” the client relationship, financial plan, underlying investment plan, and core administrative functions of the portfolio. As part of this responsibilities, you coordinate efforts with each of our investment partners’ other financial advisors, working alongside the PCG Portfolio Managers who run the day-to-day investment functions of the portfolios. You are the person a family or other investment partner calls first, whether the question is related to their existing investment portfolio or any significant change in their outlook, goals, or objectives.

What You Will Do
  • Embrace and Lead. Serve as the key, day-to-day point person for a set of the Firm’s investment partners (10-15), coordinating and providing them with access to the Firm’s investment and planning solutions. Lead or coordinate planning and review meetings and, on behalf of our investment partners, translate the investment and planning decisions into user-friendly language and concrete action steps.
  • Plan. Build and maintain comprehensive investment and financial plans on behalf of our investment partners: investment portfolio management, cash flow, tax, insurance/risk management, equity compensation, retirement, philanthropy, and multigenerational wealth transfer.
  • Coordinate Advisors. Work directly with our investment partners’ accountants and tax advisors, estate attorneys, trustees, and insurance professionals on wealth transfer, trust funding, division of assets, tax, and risk management strategies.
  • Guide Transitions. Help families prepare for and work through significant life events, such as business sales or exits, retirement, inheritance, divorce, and the death of a family member. Anticipate life changes and proactively adjust their plans to keep their financial and legacy goals on track.
  • Partner on Portfolios. Work with the team’s Managing Partners and Portfolio Managers on asset allocation, liquidity needs, concentrated stock diversification, and suitability (including sizing) for private-market investments.
  • Educate. Deliver financial education to clients and their next generation of beneficiaries or managers. Contribute to PCG client meetings and events.
  • Own the Details. Keep CRM, planning software, and compliance records accurate; meet all fiduciary and regulatory obligations as an investment adviser representative. From an investment partner and Firm perspective, make sure that “nothing slips through the cracks”.
  • Help Support a Growing Practice. Deepen existing relationships and support the onboarding of new investment partners.
What you Bring to Our Investment Partner Relationships
Required
  • 8+ years of client-facing wealth management or financial planning experience with foundations or high-net worth or ultra-high net worth families
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) certification, in good standing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of trust and estate structures, income tax planning, equity compensation, and retirement-plan rules
  • A fiduciary mindset and a record of long-tenured client relationships
  • Deep caring for individuals and families and a strong, demonstrated desire to help them meet their long-term goals
Preferred
  • MBA or a graduate degree in finance, economics, law, or tax
  • Additional planning credentials such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) (or progress toward it), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS TM ), Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®), Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA®), or the like
  • Experience at an independent RIA, multi-family office, or private wealth team within a major investment management firm
  • Familiarity with traditional, alternative, and private investments and how they fit a family's long-term investment plans, including their liquidity plans
  • Experience serving business owners, founders, executives, and their families and foundations
  • Strong proficiency with financial planning and reporting tools and platforms
Who Thrives Here

You are relationship-focused, not sales-driven. You are as comfortable explaining asset allocation in the context of the macroeconomy, portfolio construction, and risk metrics related to the investment plan as you are discussing estate and tax planning issues. You like working with sophisticated teams of senior-level individuals where your work is visible and you are trusted to help solve real issues from day one. You also like working with large complex families, each with a strong desire to meet a philanthropic mission.

Compensation

Competitive total compensation including base salary (range: $150,000 - $200,000), annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package.
