Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal Water/Wastewater Engineer in Irvine, CA to lead client relationships, manage complex water and wastewater projects, and guide design and construction efforts. The role emphasizes strategic leadership, business development, and cross-disciplinary collaboration within a growing California water practice.

You will mentor staff, ensure project performance, and maintain safety standards while delivering technically sound solutions for public and industrial clients.

Qualifications

  • Experience leading water/wastewater projects from pursuit through construction.
  • Strong client service, project management, and design coordination skills.
  • Licensure: California Professional Engineer or ability to obtain within 1 year.

Responsibilities

  • Become engaged in business development and project delivery as a client-facing Project Leader in Municipal and/or Industrial Water in California.
  • Manage project staff, financials, and contracts meeting performance goals and client expectations.
  • Promote Stantec’s project delivery structure including Project Managers and Project Technical Leads.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership in developing innovative water/wastewater solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with clients during planning, design, and construction.
  • Lead business development efforts and foster strategic client relationships in California.
