Job summary

Eastern Research Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead and support municipal infrastructure projects across the United States. You will assess needs, develop planning documents, and help secure funding.

Requires a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, a PE license, 5+ years of relevant experience, willingness to travel, and strong written and verbal communication skills. ERG offers comprehensive benefits and a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in at least one U.S. state or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in municipal water or wastewater system planning and design; funding/financing/governance experience is a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel to support community projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to convey technical information to diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Independently assess community water and wastewater infrastructure needs and identify practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Develop planning documents and technical reports, including Preliminary Engineering Reports (PERs).
• Prepare preliminary and detailed project designs municipalities can use to secure infrastructure funding.
• Lead meetings with community stakeholders to gather information, present recommendations, and foster project support and engagement.
• Contribute to additional project areas such as evaluating treatment technologies and analyzing environmental impacts.
