Job summary

Stanley Consultants, a global engineering consulting firm, seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to lead water resources and municipal utility projects. The role covers planning, design, construction, and project management from intake structures to water treatment and reuse.

The ideal candidate has at least 10 years in water/wastewater, a PE license, and strong leadership and client-relationship skills, with additional regional Midwest experience preferred.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering.
• 10+ years of relevant experience.
• Professional Engineer license; Illinois PE preferred or obtainable within 6 months.
• Regional water/wastewater network knowledge in Midwest states.
• Strong writing, communication, and client-relations skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of drinking water projects including design of intake structures, treatment plants, water reuse, storage, pumping and transmission systems.
• Prepare master planning reports and documentation for grants/loans.
• Act as a subject-matter expert and engage with professional organizations and publish market papers.
• Integrate One Water concepts and smart water systems into designs.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, I&C, structural, and CAD teams to produce plans and specs.
• Support marketing and development activities with proposals and client interactions.
• Develop long-term client relationships and assist with permitting and stakeholder engagement.
• Mentor staff and reliably deliver projects on time and within budget.
