Job description

Our Irvine office has an opening for a self-motivated engineer with 10 to 15 years of experience to work on projects related to water/wastewater design, conveyance pipeline infrastructure, as well as provide as needed construction support. Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join our Civil Design Team. This is a great opportunity to work in a growth-oriented professional consulting firm. The successful candidate will work on various projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. We offer a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost-effective designs for new facilities, expansions, upgrades, and retrofits.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing 3D, multi-discipline facilities primarily for water and wastewater industries using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Leading civil design efforts on projects, collaborating with engineers and design staff across disciplines.
  • Supporting business development activities, including scope and effort estimates, and maintaining project budgets and schedules.
  • Working effectively with local and remote team members to meet project goals.
  • Participating in client meetings and supporting project proposals and reports.
  • Conducting site investigations, field work, and construction observation.
  • Reviewing work for quality and resolving design issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in municipal/industrial civil design, including water/wastewater treatment, pipelines, and site work.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Professional Engineering license required, with ability to obtain in additional states.
  • Experience with permits, hydrology/hydraulics, and project management is preferred.

Salary Range: $117,000 - $160,000, based on location, skills, and experience.
