Job summary

CPH, a multi-disciplinary engineering and architectural design firm, seeks a Senior Designer for water/wastewater/utility projects in Sanford, FL. You will lead design concepts, develop detailed CAD drawings, and coordinate with engineers and project managers to deliver compliant, high-quality infrastructure designs.

The role focuses on pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities, and related facilities, requiring strong CAD skills, project oversight, and leadership from concept to completion.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience in water utilities design (pipelines, pump stations, treatment facilities).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Project management experience to oversee workflows and deadlines.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design concept development to meet client needs and project objectives, ensuring alignment with budget, schedule, and regulatory constraints.
• Create detailed technical drawings, plans, and specifications using AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and other design software, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and project specs.
• Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project managers to integrate technical, structural, and aesthetic elements into cohesive solutions.
• Oversee multidisciplinary coordination to ensure seamless design and construction integration.
• Participate in design reviews and implement feedback to maintain quality and meet project goals.
• Interpret building codes, safety regulations, and client requirements to ensure legal and safety compliance.
• Conduct research on materials, construction techniques, and industry trends to incorporate innovative, up-to-date solutions.
• Perform site visits to assess construction progress, feasibility, and design adjustments.
• Generate reports based on site assessments and findings.
• Calculate material quantities, cost estimates, and other data to support civil engineering and land development projects.
• Coordinate construction plans across disciplines and ensure timely submission of design documents to regulatory agencies.
