Job summary

West Yost is seeking an Associate - Senior Engineer to contribute to the Water Business Sector, focusing on water system planning and hydraulic modeling. The role offers growth toward project engineer/manager responsibilities and exposure to client interactions.

Based in California with hybrid work options, the position emphasizes collaboration, technical excellence, and delivering resilient water solutions for public agencies and utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering required.
• Experience with water system planning and hydraulic modeling.
• 5–12 years’ experience in water system planning projects.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with GIS, hydraulic modeling software (InfoWater, Aquanuity), CAD.
• PE licensure in CA (or active in other states) may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Perform water distribution system hydraulic evaluations using commercial modeling software (InfoWater, Aquanuity).
• Analyze water use, population, water quality, and facilities condition data.
• Evaluate water supply availability and reliability.
• Prepare technical reports and master plans.
• Serve as task manager to support senior engineers and train staff.
