Houston Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Project Manager to lead a talented Iowa team in Des Moines or Iowa City. You will guide planning, design, and client engagement across water resources projects, mentoring staff and driving growth.

The role emphasizes client leadership, project delivery, and collaboration with engineers, scientists, and planners to provide practical, cost-effective solutions for stormwater, water quality, and restoration initiatives.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience with project management, client service, and team leadership.
• Experience leading water resources planning and design projects from proposal to completion.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage water resources planning and design projects from proposal development through project completion.
• Understand client needs, funding opportunities, and constraints to develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare scopes of work, budgets, and schedules; manage staffing and delivery.
• Mentor engineers and project managers while growing HEI's water resources practice.
• Oversee stormwater, hydrologic, hydraulic, and water quality analyses to support design decisions.
