Job summary

AH Engineering Consultants seeks a Senior Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to lead municipal water and wastewater projects across our Newport News, VA; Virginia Beach, VA; Jacksonville, FL; and Hampstead, NC offices.

You will design treatment facilities, pump stations, storage systems, and pipelines; prepare reports, specs, and cost estimates; manage design through bidding and construction; and mentor staff.

Qualifications

• PE license is required.
• 10+ years of water/wastewater design experience.
• Experience delivering municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
• Ability to prepare plans, specs, reports, and design calculations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure including treatment facilities, pump stations, storage, pipelines.
• Prepare or oversee engineering reports, specifications, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Manage projects through design and provide support during bidding and construction phases.
• Coordinate with clients, regulators, subconsultants, and internal teams.
• Provide technical leadership, design oversight, and quality control.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
• Participate in client meetings, proposals, and business development.
