Job summary

Hazen and Sawyer in the Pacific Northwest seeks a Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager with 7–15+ years of design and project management experience to lead municipal wastewater facilities projects. You will plan, model, and support startup and operation, guiding design teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary staff.

You will prepare reports, calculations, and construction documents, with field travel as needed, mentoring junior engineers and expanding the wastewater practice in the region.

Qualifications

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Multiple years following PE licensure with design experience for water/wastewater facilities.
• Experience working on multidisciplinary teams as Task Manager or Design Lead.
• Experience supervising and reviewing work by junior/technical staff.
• Ability to estimate workload and develop schedules.
• Engagement with professional societies through meetings and conferences.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Oregon State PE or licensed PE in another state with ability to obtain Oregon PE within 6 months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, model, plan, and support startup and operation of public sector wastewater facilities.
• Guide design of wastewater treatment and nutrient management facilities.
• Prepare design reports, calculations, models, and construction documents; support construction phase services.
• Travel for field work and site visits as needed; lead or support multiple projects.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to growing the wastewater practice in the Pacific Northwest.
