Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business plus 2 years warehouse/operations or 6 years warehouse/operations experience.
  • Proven leadership skills in a supervisory warehouse, operational or related role.
  • Knowledgeable in material handling and inventory documentation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, supply contracts and shipping requirements.
  • Excellent math and accounting, and financial interpretation skills.
  • Effective communicator to a wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Strong ability to build and maintain customer and supplier relationships.
  • Ability to project a positive image to customers.
  • Demonstrated product, technical and customer service knowledge.
  • Knowledge in applicable computer software, Microsoft Office applications: Word and Excel
  • Effective communicator to wide range of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Willing to travel nationally as required
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record

Responsibilities

  • Oversees measurement and effectiveness of warehouse processes including inventory management and transportation.
  • Provides timely reports on the operating condition of the warehouse.
  • Communicates issues, programs, decisions and actions to Regional manager and other leaders.
  • Assumes responsibility for maintenance of warehouse facilities including equipment and cleanliness.
  • Develops and maintains productive relations with vendors, suppliers and shippers.
  • Provides leadership to assigned personnel through objective setting and delegation; conducts regular staff meetings.
  • Assigns and coordinates personnel, scheduling to ensure workload is done efficiently.
  • Develops warehouse personnel and completes 30/60/90 day reviews; prepares development plans.
  • Works with Human Resources to schedule interviews, training and issue management.
  • Proactively manages safety programs to ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
  • Maintains safety meetings and investigates accidents with corrective actions.
  • Leads loss prevention efforts and ensures security of facilities and assets.
  • Partners with Sales to meet customer needs and drive field operations.
  • Supports goal-oriented strategic priorities, project management and process improvement.
  • Manages acquisitions, warehouse moves and special projects.
  • Plans and manages warehouse operating expenses to meet goals.
  • Motivates and trains staff; monitors performance and progress.
  • Oversees planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.
  • Prepares capital and operational budget for facility.
  • Determines efficient layout for product flow in/out of warehouse.
  • Promotes goodwill and a positive image of the Company.
