Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a supervisor to coordinate workflow for Inbound, LUM, Case Pick, or Dock teams at the CSC. You will direct employees, assist supervisors in process control, and ensure safe, efficient operations.

You will align tasks, monitor daily performance, and train staff while maintaining accuracy and adherence to safety policies in a high-energy healthcare supply environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum two years in a distribution warehouse or hospital distribution.
  • Experience leading inbound/outbound activities (receiving, order selection, staging, loading).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Strong verbal and written communication; good time management and judgment.
  • Forklift, pallet jack, reach truck operation.

  • Aligns employee work assignments in coordination with CSC Management.
  • Manages daily operations and monitors workflow in assigned areas.
  • Investigates discrepancies and inconsistencies in distribution processes.
  • Identifies department process improvements in collaboration with team.
  • Reports daily performance metrics of employees.
  • Ensures accuracy within processes and trains new hires on warehouse functions.

Job Summary

Schedule: Sunday-Thursday (start/finish times are dependent on completion of operational tasks, order fulfillment of 15 hospitals)

Position is responsible for coordinating the workflow for Inbound, LUM area, Case Pick area, or Dock area teams in the Memorial Hermann Consolidated Service Center (CSC). Provides direction to employees, assisting supervisors in process control and execution within designated areas.

Job Description
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: High School diploma or GED preferred;
  • Licenses/Certifications: Material Handling Equipment (MHE) Certification preferred; Lean/Six Sigma certification preferred;
  • Experience / Knowledge / Skills: Minimum two (2) years experience in a distribution warehouse environment and/or in hospital distribution preferred. Proficiency in leading inbound/outbound activities such as receiving, order selection, staging, and loading. Ability to resolve receiving discrepancies, vendor invoicing discrepancies, and shipping errors. Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) for daily tasks. Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as the ability to exercise good judgement in handling difficult situations. Demonstrates ability to work in a high-energy environment with time sensitive projects and processes. Proficient in operating and maintaining forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other electric material handling equipment. Ability to perform in a metrics-driven environment.
Principal Accountabilities

  • Conducts investigation of discrepancies and inconsistencies in distribution processes.
  • Collaborates with identifying departmental process improvements.
  • Reports daily performance metrics on employees.
  • Ensures accuracy within processes.
  • Conducts employee training, including reviewing standard operating procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and security protocols.
  • Maintains distribution-related documentation in an orderly manner.
  • May assist with warehouse, forklift, or clerk duties during order deadlines or staff shortages.
  • May train new hires on warehouse functions.
  • Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
