Job summary

Cerebras Systems is seeking a Senior Staff AI Accelerator Performance Architect to guide the evolution of next‑generation AI systems. You will connect workloads to architectural behavior, identify bottlenecks, quantify improvements and influence roadmaps through rigorous analysis.

This role focuses on performance modeling, end‑to‑end inference and training workloads, and collaboration across architecture, compiler, kernel, and runtime teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in performance analysis or architecture exploration.
• Strong understanding of hardware architecture through related work.
• Experience developing performance models in Python or C++.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve performance models and methodologies for next‑gen accelerator architectures.
• Build and extend analytical, simulation‑based or trace‑driven models across workloads and product generations.
• Analyze AI workloads to identify time, bandwidth, compute and capacity bottlenecks.
• Identify hardware and software bottlenecks and quantify opportunities to improve latency and throughput.
• Evaluate architectural features and their performance return across workloads.
• Study how models and kernels map onto compute, memory and network architecture.
• Collaborate with architecture, compiler, kernel, runtime and systems teams to assess mappings.
• Develop workload projections and competitive performance analyses with transparent assumptions.
• Create concise recommendations translating results into architectural and product decisions.
• Improve modeling methodology and validation with RTL, emulation and silicon data.
• Help define workloads, performance targets and success criteria for future products.
