Job summary

AUGUST SCHELL ENTERPRISES, INC. seeks an IT Vulnerability Management Lead / Senior Security Analyst to guide the vulnerability lifecycle in a primarily on-site Bethesda environment. You will coordinate remediation with IT ops, define scanner architectures, and ensure NIH/FISMA/FedRAMP alignment.

The role requires hands-on expertise with Tenable/Nessus tools, cloud security, and strong collaboration with executives and technical teams. Bachelor’s degree and CISSP (or near-term) are expected.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of IT security vulnerabilities and risk assessments.
• Proven ability to translate technical risks into business impact.
• Strong experience with vulnerability management lifecycle and patching.
• Experience securing cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) and hybrid environments.
• Familiarity with FISMA and FedRAMP processes.
• Bachelor's degree and CISSP or equivalent certification.

Responsibilities

• Lead the vulnerability management lifecycle across on-premises and cloud scanners.
• Coordinate remediation with IT operations and system owners in a hybrid environment.
• Maintain scan schedules, asset groups, and reports; communicate risk posture.
• Define scanner architecture and tune configurations to minimize false positives.
• Develop documentation for vulnerability processes and remediation tracking.
• Support security projects requiring compliance with government policies.
• Serve as SME for vulnerability management tools and processes.
• Ensure compliance with FISMA and FedRAMP across NIH/NLM programs.
• Assist coordination and enforcement of NIH IT security policies.
• Support NIH incident response workflow and cross-team coordination.
