Job summary

Citi is seeking a Senior Vice President, Private Equity Credit Portfolio Manager to lead underwriting, monitoring, and management of sophisticated hedge fund and alternative investment exposures from New York. You will interact with Front Office, risk teams, and clients to balance risk and return across complex structures.

The role demands deep capital markets knowledge, independent judgment under pressure, and governance discipline to uphold global risk standards within Citi’s Alternatives

Qualifications

• 8+ years of counterparty credit, credit risk management, structuring, or underwriting within a major financial institution.
• Deep expertise covering Private Equity and alternative investment counterparties.
• Strong understanding of capital markets products, including Prime Brokerage, derivatives, repo, and structured financing.
• Proven ability to exercise independent credit judgment under time pressure.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Experience covering Private Equity, BDCs, or other alternative investment vehicles.
• Exposure to subscription finance or fund‑level lending structures.
• Advanced degree (MBA) or professional certification (CFA, CPA) a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Credit Underwriting & Risk Judgment: Assess risk across hedge fund strategies and financing structures.
• Portfolio Management & Monitoring: Own ongoing monitoring of an alternatives counterparty portfolio.
• Stakeholder & Client Partnership: Engage Front Office, product teams, and Independent Risk.
• Governance & Best Practices: Contribute to underwriting consistency and portfolio governance.
• Regulatory & Internal Policy Adherence: Support committees and ensure controls are followed.
