Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center seeks a visionary Vice President of Medical and Health Sciences Advancement to elevate fundraising across the medical center and seven health colleges. You will lead a high‑performing team, cultivate major gifts, and align strategies with institutional goals to secure transformative support.

You will collaborate with deans, leadership, alumni, and foundations, guiding campaign planning and capital project fundraising while building an engaged donor

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education/experience
• 10 years of progressive leadership experience
• 15+ years of experience in advancement, development or fundraising, preferably in a medical or academic setting

Responsibilities

• Lead fundraising efforts across the entire medical center, including the James Cancer Center, and health science colleges.
• Develop strategies to identify, qualify and cultivate a robust donor pipeline with top donors and prospects at $500k to $5M+.
• Supervise and coach a team of development professionals across units; align resources and goals; drive performance and best practices in donor cultivation and stewardship.
