The role provides technical guidance to research staff and ensures high-quality animal care in a busy facility.

The successful candidate will have a related bachelor’s degree with two years of animal care experience, LAT certification, and current tetanus vaccination, and will work Monday–Friday, 40 hours

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of laboratory animal care experience, or an equivalent combination.
• AALAS LAT certification is required.
• Candidates must be up to date on tetanus vaccination.

Responsibilities

• Assist in daily Vivarium operations and address animal welfare concerns.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to students and animal users on protocols.
• Develop and maintain SOPs and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Conduct daily inspections of animal housing and documentation.
• Perform procedures under IACUC protocols and train others on equipment.
• Coordinate shipment and inventory of animals and supplies.
