Job summary

COA Network Inc in Austin, Texas is seeking a highly skilled BIM/VDC Coordinator to lead 3D coordination on commercial projects from design through construction.

You will manage coordinated models, perform clash detection with Navisworks, and support field teams with BIM workflows and execution plans, ensuring design intent and project standards are met.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2+ years of construction experience.
  • Minimum 2+ years of BIM/VDC coordination experience.
  • Experience with medium to large commercial general contractors preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction documents, specifications, and coordination workflows.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead BIM/VDC coordination for assigned construction projects, ensuring models meet project requirements and company standards.
  • Assemble, manage, and maintain coordinated 3D models using content from design partners and subcontractors.
  • Analyze construction documents and BIM models to identify conflicts, omissions, and constructability issues, implementing corrective actions.
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate resolutions using Navisworks and other BIM collaboration tools.
  • Incorporate design revisions and maintain accurate project models throughout the construction lifecycle.
  • Provide BIM technical support and training to project teams, improving adoption of VDC workflows and technology.
  • Support RFIs, documentation, meeting coordination, and BIM execution plans.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors, design teams, and field operations to improve coordination and project execution.
  • Support field layout, self-perform construction modeling, laser scanning, and digital construction workflows as applicable.
  • Promote continuous improvement of BIM processes, standards, and project delivery strategies.

Experience you will need:

  • Technical Skills: Autodesk Revit (Architecture, Structure, MEP), Autodesk Navisworks Manage (Clash Detection), Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360, Autodesk AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, SketchUp, BIM Coordination & Model Management, Construction Document Review, VDC/BIM Execution Planning, Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Preferred Experience: Commercial construction and multidisciplinary BIM coordination, Field layout, laser scanning, or self-perform construction support, Knowledge of Lean construction principles, Experience with Tekla Structures or Trimble Field Layout solutions is a plus.
