Job summary

York County, VA is seeking a skilled multimedia content producer responsible for planning, producing, filming, and editing videos promoting County programs, services, and events across digital platforms including social media, website, and public television.

The role requires coordinating all production phases; operating cameras, lighting, and audio; editing with Adobe Creative Cloud; creating motion graphics; and ensuring content meets branding and accessibility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, film or video production, digital media, marketing, public relations, graphic design, or a related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of professional multimedia or video production experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud applications and professional camera systems is preferred.
• Requires a valid driver's license issued by Virginia.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate.
• Ability to travel throughout York County to various production locations.
• This job is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment checks to include driving record, criminal history and background checks.
• Thorough knowledge of professional video production techniques, including cinematography, lighting, audio recording, editing, and visual storytelling.
• Thorough knowledge of photography principles and digital image editing.
• Working knowledge of graphic design, motion graphics, and multimedia content creation.
• Knowledge of livestream production, digital video formats, and multimedia distribution platforms.
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Lightroom, Audition, and Media Encoder.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for planning, production, and editing of multimedia content promoting York County programs, services, initiatives, and community events across digital platforms, social media, the County website, local government television programming, livestreams, and presentations.
• Plans, produces, shoots, and edits high-quality video content promoting County services, programs, initiatives, events, and community engagement efforts.
• Produces informational, educational, promotional, feature, and special event videos for distribution through County channels.
• Coordinates all phases of production from concept development to post‑production.
• Operates cameras, lighting, audio, teleprompters and other production equipment.
