Pay Range
This market-based pay range for this role is $250,000-$300,000 annually (plus additional bonus incentives), negotiable based on qualifications. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive oversight of all accounting and finance functions, including payroll.
- Develop and maintain all necessary accounting policies, procedures, systems and controls, including general ledger, financial reporting and cash flow management.
- Oversee the general ledger month‑end close and prepare financial analysis and results for Executive management.
- Issue regular status and ad‑hoc reports to Executive Team.
- Prepare and oversee monthly and quarterly distributions as well as financials for investor reporting.
- Produce key financial reports for quarterly Advisory Board meetings.
- Analyze the Company’s financial results with respect to profits, trends, costs and compliance with budgets.
- Participate in the strategic financial planning process and develop long‑term financial plans and structures in support of the Executive Team’s strategic plan.
- Effectively manage relationships with tax consultants, audit firm, banks, insurance providers, credit card companies, accounting system providers, and other third parties to fulfill Company objectives.
- Responsible for lender reporting and ensuring compliance with financial covenants of loans as well as all applicable regulations and financial accounting standards.
- Communicate with operations management to ensure compliance with the Company’s financial policies.
- Safeguard the Company’s assets and proactively develop early warning systems to identify and mitigate fraudulent activity.
- Manage the Company’s property and casualty insurance program.
- Partner with Investments Team on tax appeal applications.
- Oversee timely income and expense filings.
- Manage and support the Payroll Director to ensure accurate and compliant payroll operations.
- Oversee timely completion of CAM reconciliations for commercial tenants.
- Oversee Finance Systems development, including Yardi roadmap and development.
- Other duties as trained for and are qualified to do.
Key Qualifications
- Professional certifications: CPA mandatory, Bachelor's degree in accounting or similar field; MBA preferred.
- Extensive real estate industry knowledge and experience required, specifically, real estate income tax accounting.
- Proven ability to effectively motivate and manage teams.
- Minimum of fifteen (15) plus years of relevant financial experience.
- Demonstrated success within a complex organization with multiple divisions and various revenue streams.
- Advanced expertise in Microsoft products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience in Yardi or similar platform such as MRI or RealPage.
- Ability to multi‑task, work independently and delegate in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Very detail oriented.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Impeccable integrity and clean financial history.
- Familiarity with effective outsourcing options a plus, as well as interest in learning about AI tools to improve efficiency of certain recurring tasks.
