Job summary

Teneo is seeking a Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications in New York. You will lead strategic communications programs for technology-focused clients, working with founders of startups and engaging non-traditional media to advance client goals.

Role requires 10+ years in complex programs, executive counseling, and a proven ability to integrate earned media, social, events, and communications levers. Hybrid NY office with strong leadership expectations.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of relevant experience managing complex communications programs across stakeholder groups in Technology, Media, Financial Services or Healthcare industries.
  • Experience counseling senior executives and collaborating with external financial and legal advisors.
  • Ability to think creatively and approach communications from new angles; handle day‑to‑day account work and one‑off client asks.
  • Experience in technology, media or fintech sectors, with a focus on mid‑to late‑stage startups preferred.
  • Hybrid work requirement with minimum three days in the New York office.

  • Partner with Teneo senior management to identify client needs and collaborate with other divisions to deliver integrated client service.

Description

The Senior Vice President within Teneo’s Strategy and Communications business is a pivotal member of our account teams. Senior Vice Presidents are responsible for executing strategic programs and communications initiatives in support of Teneo’s clients. This individual should have extensive experience working with and within technology companies, particularly with the founders of dynamic startups. They should have a strong understanding of and network among non-traditional media, including but not limited to podcasts, online video hosts, and newsletter writers. It is critical that they approach communications from a holistic perspective, with a demonstrable understanding of how earned media, social, events, and all of the communications levers can be utilized in concert to advance client goals. They will work closely with Account Leaders and teams to deliver best‑in‑class service and function as a cohesive unit.

  • Execute against team objectives and plans as a reliable, adaptable resource for senior team members capable of overseeing others.
  • Leverage an understanding of the unique challenges faced by companies in emerging technologies to help clients stay ahead of market trends.
  • Foster an environment in which commitment to quality and client satisfaction is a top priority.
  • Partner effectively with Teneo senior management to help identify client needs and collaborate with other Teneo operating divisions to deliver to clients in an integrated team fashion.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with a focus managing complex communications programs across stakeholder groups within Technology, Media, Financial Services or Healthcare industries.
  • Experience counselling senior executives and collaborating with external financial and legal advisors
  • Ability to think creatively, approach communications from new angles, and handle both day‑to‑day account work and one‑off client asks
  • Relevant and related experience in the technology, media or fintech sectors, with a particular focus on mid‑to late‑stage startups preferred
  • Available to work from Teneo’s New York office in a hybrid setting, with a minimum of three days in the office
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent

Base Salary Range

$175,000 - $230,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).

Includes annualized bonus, 401k match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of additional benefits and perks.

Flexible Work Policy:

Teneo believes in in‑person collaboration when possible and if you are assigned to the New York office, the company's expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three days a week.
