Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive insurance industry experience with significant claims leadership responsibility.
  • Experience developing and executing enterprise claims strategies and operational transformations.
  • Extensive experience building strategic solutions and delivering large-scale business transformation initiatives.
  • Prior experience managing Programs, Captives, Alternative Risk or loss-sensitive business portfolios.
  • Experience leading TPA governance, claims outsourcing programs and vendor management functions.
  • Experience leading claims digitization, automation and systems implementation initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of claims operations, quality assurance, compliance frameworks and performance management disciplines.
  • Demonstrated success managing complex cross-functional programs and organizational change initiatives.
  • Executive-level business acumen within Property & Casualty insurance.
  • Deep understanding of insurance risk management, compliance, operational excellence and change management.
  • Proven ability to influence and collaborate effectively with senior executives and stakeholders across multiple disciplines.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the U.S. Chief Claims Officer on claims strategy, operational effectiveness, organizational performance and enterprise execution.
  • Develop, align and execute the long-term strategic roadmap, operating model and transformation agenda for the U.S. Claims organization.
  • Lead claims operations and enterprise transformation initiatives, including process redesign, automation, digitization, systems enhancements, workflow optimization and operational readiness for new business initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain standard operating procedures, governance frameworks, best practices, service standards and accountability metrics across internal operations and external claims partners.
  • Build and leverage analytics, dashboards, key performance indicators and operational reporting to monitor claim outcomes, quality, customer satisfaction, expense management, data quality and operational effectiveness.
  • Use data insights to improve quality, simplify processes, reduce cycle times, optimize staffing and resources, support automation and enhance claims performance.
  • Structure and manage the integrated strategy, governance framework and oversight model for TPAs, Programs, Captives, Alternative Risk and loss-sensitive business portfolios.
  • Develop staffing model and lead the group that is responsible for onboarding, implementation, operational readiness and performance management activities for TPAs, new programs, captive arrangements and alternative risk structures.
  • Oversee claims bordereaux reporting, electronic data exchange initiatives and data standards across TPAs, Programs, Captives and Alternative Risk portfolios.
  • Partner with Claims, Underwriting, Technology, Data & Analytics, Operations and business leaders to align priorities, accelerate execution and support business growth, profitability, client needs and disciplined claim outcomes.
  • Serve as an outward-facing claims executive with brokers, insureds, captive managers, TPAs, vendors and business partners, ensuring optimal service delivery and cost effectiveness.

Position Overview

Reporting to the U.S. Chief Claims Officer, the Senior Vice President, Claims Strategy, Operations & Alternative Risk will serve as a key member of the Claims Leadership Team, responsible for developing and executing the strategic vision for the U.S. Claims organization. This executive leader will oversee Claims Operations, Claims Strategy, Third-Party Administrator (TPA) Management, Programs & Alternative Risk Claims, Claims Quality Assurance, Operational Excellence, and Transformation initiatives. The SVP will partner closely with Claims, Underwriting, Technology, Data & Analytics, Actuarial, Legal, and Operations leadership to drive organizational effectiveness, strengthen claims capabilities, optimize performance, implement scalable operating models, and ensure superior customer and financial outcomes across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities
Claims Operations and Strategy

Requirements

Compensation

Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, and skills. The base pay is just one component of Ascot’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual cash bonus, and other forms of discretionary compensation awarded by the Company.

The annualized base pay range for this role is: $260,000 - $275,000
