Job summary

Chewy Vet Care is hiring a full-time Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our Healthcare Practice Team. Work in a practice designed from the ground up by veterinarians, equipped with advanced equipment and purpose-built technology so that you can practice your best medicine and focus on patient and pet parent care.

You will support the team, implement procedures with integrated technology, monitor anesthesia, manage inventory, and assist with client communications.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited veterinary technology program and current licensure is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician in practice is preferred.
• Ability to complete the veterinary technician skills checklist for Veterinary Technician III.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, observational and analytical skills; thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the practice team and deliver high-level veterinary medical care; embody Chewy's mission to deliver the pet-parent WOW experience.
• Implement the outlined policies and procedures using integrated technology and deliver consistent medical care.
• Assist with technician skills checklist, inventory management, mentoring Team Members, and handling client complaints.
• Patient care tasks including monitoring anesthesia, dentistry, wound care, phlebotomy/IV access as applicable, and handling bodily fluids.
• Demonstrate team support and care for others’ work experiences.
• Understand and follow SOPs and SOC in practice.
• Communicate clearly with team members and keep veterinarians updated in real time.
• Be a PIMS administrative super-user and aid others in using the technology.
