Roush in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Senior Vehicle Test Engineer to plan, execute, and document full-vehicle tests on track or road surfaces. You will work with Design Engineers to ensure test readiness, collect data, and meet validation requirements.

Strong knowledge of powertrain and chassis systems is essential, with hands-on testing and data analysis skills. The role emphasizes collaboration with customers and team members, maintaining test records, and developing test procedures to support

Competenze

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in automotive systems design, development, or testing.
• Strong understanding of powertrain and chassis system principles.
• Ability to effectively read and interpret engineering illustrations and procedures.
• Knowledge of fluid flow and heat transfer, systems, and components.
• Knowledge of basic programming and electronics troubleshooting.

Job Summary

The Vehicle Test Engineer Senior will support test procedure execution, for full vehicles, on test track or road surfaces, at the request of Program or Design Engineers, for attributes such as durability, strength, fatigue, or customer usage. Plan, implement, track, and document testing of full vehicles. Ensure test plans are adequate for intended system validation, ensure vehicles are test ready, that collected data meets requirements, and approved procedures are followed. Utilize a variety of data acquisition methods to support testing any vehicle subsystem. Analyze test data to form conclusions and develop test procedures. The Vehicle Test Engineer Senior will perform independent project tasks and collaborate with customers and team members.

This position is located in Whittmann, AZ.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Automotive Engineering, Automotive Engineering Technology, or equivalent
• Minimum of 4 years of engineering experience in automotive systems design, development, or testing
• Strong understanding of powertrain and chassis system principles
• Ability to effectively read and interpret engineering illustrations and procedures
• Knowledge of fluid flow and heat transfer, systems, and components
• Knowledge of basic programming and electronics troubleshootingProficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications

• Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering
• Experience with Engineering design or testing of powertrain, chassis, body, or electrical systems
• Basic proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Visual Basic, MATLAB, Python, C++, etc.)
• Familiarity with control module flashing, calibration files, and CAN signal communication
• Ability to use scientific measurement equipment (transducers, strain gauges, accelerometers, emission benches, etc.)
