Job summary

ALTEN Technology USA is seeking an Issue Management Engineer to lead intake, logging, and resolution of engineering issues across vehicle families. You’ll coordinate with engineering, validation, quality, and manufacturing to drive timely closures and quarterly reporting.

You will support data-driven decisions with dashboards, root-cause analysis, and lessons-learned documentation, while ensuring alignment with post-production processes and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, systems engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 5+ years in automotive engineering, quality, or validation.
• Experience with issue tracking systems and related tools.
• Knowledge of automotive development and testing processes (HIL, validation, launch readiness).
• Familiarity with field performance metrics (IOP, IQS, QFS, warranty analysis).
• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, DFMEA, PFMEA.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; able to influence across teams.
• Experience with cross-functional and global teams.
• Lessons learned documentation and Client Engineering Releasing Process is a plus.
• Strong analytical, documentation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the issue intake process for pre-production and post-production phases.
• Capture and prioritize issues from testing, validation, manufacturing, and customer data.
• Ensure accurate logging of issues in the GIM system with root cause, responsibility, and timelines.
• Serve as liaison between engineering, validation, quality, manufacturing, and customer support.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings to review items, assign actions, and track progress.
• Provide status updates to stakeholders and leadership; support escalations.
• Maintain dashboards and reporting tools to monitor issue trends and aging.
• Present periodic reports on issue status and patterns for management.
