Job summary

Team Penske in Mooresville, NC seeks a Senior Simulation Engineer to advance NASCAR vehicle dynamics software and correlate models with test data. You will develop multibody dynamics simulations and support track testing while contributing to OEM DIL Simulator development.

Requires a BS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 6+ years in vehicle dynamics and simulation; experience with MSC ADAMS, Modelica/Dymola, SIMPACK, and programming in C/C#/VB.Net is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 6+ years in vehicle dynamics and simulation.
• Experience with multi-body dynamics tools (MSC ADAMS, Modelica/Dymola, SIMPACK) and data-model correlation.
• Programming experience in C, C#, or VB.Net; motorsports engineering background.

Responsibilities

• Develop simulation models for vehicle dynamics and performance.
• Correlate models with test data and identify performance improvements.

Overview

Working in the NASCAR vehicle dynamics group, the candidate will develop simulation software used by the race teams and the Engineering Department as well as work on vehicle performance.

Responsibilities

• Simulation model development.
• Model correlation with test data.
• Identifying and exploiting areas of vehicle performance / development.
• Assist the vehicle dynamics group with the development of an OEM DIL Simulator.
• Track test support.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have at minimum a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering along with 6+ years’ work experience in vehicle dynamics and simulation. Additional requirements include:

• Experience with MSC ADAMS, VI-CRT, Modelica / Dymola, AVL-VSM, LMS Virtual.Lab, SIMPACK, or equivalent multi-body dynamics simulation.
• Programming experience with C, C#, VB.Net, or equivalent.
• Motorsports engineering experience.
