Job summary

GEM, an independent investment firm with a global platform, seeks a senior investment professional to lead our venture capital secondaries and co-investment practice. You will report to the Managing Director of Venture Capital and source, evaluate, and execute secondary transactions and co-investments across the technology landscape.

The candidate should have 10+ years in VC or institutional investing with deep tech expertise, strong deal judgment, and the ability to cultivate relationships

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree with strong academic performance; CFA or MBA preferred.
• 10+ years in venture capital, fund-of-funds, or institutional investing focused on technology.
• Track record of secondary transactions and co-investments.
• Strong industry knowledge of the Bay Area and technology ecosystem.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building a best-in-class venture capital program across primaries, secondaries and co-investments.
• Lead secondaries and co-investment practice and source opportunities.
• Identify and assess secondary market opportunities, including LP interest sales and structured liquidity solutions.
• Source and evaluate co-investment opportunities with VC and tech fund managers.
• Lead underwriting and due diligence with financial modeling and market analysis.
• Build relationships with top-tier VC managers and intermediaries in the Bay Area and beyond.
• Participate in capital formation activities and client-facing communications.
• Mentor junior investment professionals and influence the investment process and culture.
