Hitachi Energy USA Inc. in South Boston, VA seeks a Senior Value Engineering Leader to advance cost, manufacturability, and performance for medium to large power transformers.

You will partner with Engineering, Operations and global teams to drive DtV, DFMA, and data-driven business cases that cut costs and boost customer value. Lead projects from concept to implementation, share best practices across North America and beyond, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards while exploring new

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
• Experience with power transformer design preferred.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and design tools (PTC Creo preferred).
• Experience with FEA tools such as Creo Simulate or ANSYS.
• Proven success leading engineering projects with SAP experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead DtV initiatives to improve product competitiveness, customer value, and operational performance.
• Identify cost reduction and productivity opportunities using DFMA principles.
• Analyze product costs, bills of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering data to uncover improvement opportunities.
• Develop data-driven business cases and implement initiatives that support factory productivity and cost optimization goals.
• Lead engineering projects from concept through implementation while monitoring progress, risks, and business outcomes.
• Collaborate with global engineering experts to standardize best practices and drive innovation across product lines.
• Partner with manufacturing and operations teams to deliver practical, scalable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Support the introduction of new products, materials, technologies, and components, including technology transfer activities and alignment with global standards.
• Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures and guidelines.
