Job summary

Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina seeks a Principal Value-Based Care Operations Advisor to lead the design, execution, and optimization of value-based care programs across the full lifecycle.

You will partner with clinical, network, finance, actuarial, analytics, and operations teams to translate strategic VBC objectives into scalable operating models, ensuring programs are measurable, executable, and sustainable.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in healthcare operations or value-based care.
• Experience with payer-provider strategy.
• Strong understanding of reimbursement and performance measurement.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end operational design of value-based care programs and models.
• Translate objectives into operational workflows, governance, and plans.
• Identify gaps across contracting, attribution, measurement, reporting, and settlement.
• Collaborate with clinical, finance, analytics, and network teams for alignment.
• Develop and refine VBC operating models and cross-functional processes.
• Evaluate drivers and recommend improvements for outcomes and sustainability.
• Support implementation of new reimbursement models and provider strategies.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives requiring enterprise coordination.
• Ensure provider engagement with clear performance expectations.
• Establish repeatable processes and controls for scalability and integrity.
