Job summary

GovCIO is seeking a Senior UX/UI Designer to advance a portfolio of VA digital experiences with user‑centered design and validation. You will collaborate with PMs, UI Designers, SMEs, and the UX Lead to improve usability and workflow for Veterans and clinical users in a fully remote role within the United States.

You will create UI designs and high‑fidelity prototypes, support usability testing and UAT, and translate insights into actionable design artifacts that elevate adoption and user

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8–10 years of relevant UX/UI/design experience.
• Experience creating UI designs and high‑fidelity prototypes anchored in Human‑Centered Design (HCD).
• Experience supporting usability evaluations, task‑based testing, or user‑centered validation.
• Experience collaborating with product managers, designers, and developers.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies.
• Strong written, analytical, facilitation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support UX execution for an assigned product portfolio with PMs, UI Designers and stakeholders.
• Create UI designs and high‑fidelity prototypes grounded in HCD, aligned to veteran needs and clinical workflows.
• Develop task‑based UAT scenarios and success criteria.
• Support and facilitate UAT sessions from preparation to synthesis of findings.
• Conduct lightweight usability sessions and validation activities.
• Translate user insights into product flows and recommendations.
• Support iterative usability improvements based on feedback and stakeholder input.
• Contribute to telehealth and virtual care workflow improvements.
