Job summary

Google in San Francisco is seeking a User Experience Researcher (UXR) to join a multi-disciplinary team. You will collaborate with Engineering and Product Management to gather insights and shape industry-leading products through primary research, field studies, interviews, ethnography, and usability testing.

You will influence safety research for Android Auto, define strategies, and drive best practices, acting as the safety expert on driver attention and automotive human factors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in an applied research setting.
• Experience with safety-focused research programs.
• Experience with automotive human factors principles and advanced research methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Influence stakeholders to gain support for research-based, user-centric solutions.
• Define and drive the safety research agenda across Android Auto, leveraging quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods methodologies.
• Establish safety frameworks and best practices within the Android Auto team, ensuring products meet safety standards.
• Act as the subject-matter expert on driver safety, distraction, and automotive human factors, providing analysis and strategic guidance.
