Job summary

Weekday is seeking an experienced product design evaluator to develop objective grading criteria for designs across products and interfaces. You will assess AI-generated and human-created work, providing detailed, evidence-based feedback on usability and visual quality.

Collaborate with the research team, incorporate senior feedback, and ensure consistent standards across diverse design projects. Remote, contractor engagement with flexible project-based schedules.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in product design, UI/UX, or design systems.
• Experience with digital-product/UX studios, product-led organizations, e-commerce platforms, marketplaces, or technology companies.
• Strong knowledge of interaction design, visual design, responsive layouts, design systems, prototyping, usability, and end-to-end product flows.
• Hands-on proficiency with Figma and familiarity with production and engineering handoff processes.
• Ability to critically assess design decisions and provide senior-level UX feedback.
• Excellent written communication and ability to explain whether designs meet professional standards.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to apply consistent criteria across varied designs.
• Comfort receiving feedback and calibrating professional judgment with other experts.
• Experience as a product/UI designer, UX designer or lead, design systems designer, UX writer/content designer, or digital product/business analyst.
• Prior AI training, AI evaluation, or human-data project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop objective, task-specific grading criteria for product designs, design systems, responsive interfaces, user journeys, portals, UX content, and development handoffs.
• Evaluate AI-generated and human-created digital product designs against established criteria.
• Provide detailed, evidence-based written feedback covering strengths, weaknesses, usability issues, and improvements.
• Apply consistent, reproducible standards aligned with professional product design expectations.
• Assess designs for usability, accessibility, visual quality, interaction patterns, business goals, and user needs.
• Incorporate senior reviewer feedback and refine evaluation methods.
• Collaborate with the research and review team on design evaluation projects.
