Job summary

AMBSIMS & Associates Corp in Houston is seeking Project Managers and Senior Project Managers to lead underground utility and heavy civil projects from award through closeout. This hands-on ownership role requires driving schedule, budget, quality, and safety on large diameter pipeline work for municipal and regional water and wastewater owners.

You will manage budgets, forecasts, submittals, and field coordination, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with engineers and inspectors.

Qualifications

• Must have underground utility construction experience.
• Experience with large diameter pipelines (36" or larger).
• Knowledge of City of Houston, Harris County or regional water authorities requirements.
• Strong understanding of owner specifications, standards and approval processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects from pre-construction through closeout and warranty.
• Manage budgets, cost tracking, forecasting, change orders and billing.
• Develop and maintain project schedules; coordinate crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and equipment.
• Serve as primary contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, and agencies; ensure compliance with owner specs.
• Manage submittals, RFIs, contract documents, and project correspondence.
• Identify risks early and take initiative to resolve without waiting for direction.
• Collaborate with field superintendents and operations to keep work safe and on track.
• Support estimating and bidding on new work as needed.
• Senior PMs to manage multiple or larger projects and mentor junior staff.
