Job summary

Genentech Oceanside, CA, is seeking a Systems Owner for Utilities Engineering to lead operation, maintenance, and improvements of plant mechanical and clean utilities (WFI, clean steam, RO/DI, boilers, HVAC, gases).

You will collaborate with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Quality, and Automation to ensure compliant, reliable site operations, oversee field installations and commissioning, and apply RCA/FMEA for continuous reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Chemical) required.
• 5–8 years in a corporate or manufacturing engineering setting.
• 5+ years direct utility engineering in biotech/pharma facilities.

Responsibilities

• System Ownership & Leadership: lead operation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of plant mechanical and clean utilities.
• Project & Field Execution: review designs, oversee field installations and commissioning.
• CQGMP & Quality Compliance: manage change control, SOPs, validation protocols, and deviations.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: partner with Process, Automation, Maintenance, and Quality teams.
• Operational Excellence & Reliability: drive RCA/FMEA and apply DMAIC/Six Sigma methodologies.
