Job description

Senior User Interface DesignerSunnyData

As a Senior UI/UX Designer, you will lead design efforts on consulting projects, helping customers build data‑driven tools and applications for business use. You will shape how design integrates into our consulting work, leading research, creating prototypes, and ensuring our solutions are intuitive and impactful for end users.

The Impact You’ll Have
  • Partner with engineers and consultants to translate customer requirements into intuitive designs that meet the needs of business users.
  • Lead user research efforts, including stakeholder interviews, user testing, and usability studies, to uncover needs and validate designs.
  • Design both new applications and feature enhancements for existing tools, balancing function with usability.
  • Create wireframes, mockups, and clickable prototypes using Figma or other industry‑standard tools.
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to run workshops, gather requirements, and test concepts.
  • Work across multiple projects as a shared service, balancing priorities in partnership with engineering leads.
  • Ensure that designs are documented and communicated clearly to engineering teams for implementation.
What We’re Looking For
  • 5+ years of experience in UI/UX design, with a portfolio demonstrating work on internal tools, data applications, or business‑facing products.
  • Strong research skills: able to lead discovery, conduct user testing, and translate findings into actionable design decisions.
  • Expertise in Figma (or equivalent tools) for wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
  • Proficiency in front‑end languages such as HTML and CSS; experience with React or Angular is preferred.
  • Proven experience balancing feature work with net‑new product design.
  • Ability to work in consulting or professional services environments, engaging directly with clients when needed.
  • Strong communication skills to bridge engineering and business stakeholders.
  • Experience facilitating workshops or design sessions with cross‑functional teams.
  • Skilled at both research and design execution, with a passion for making data tools easier and more impactful for business users.
  • Collaborative and comfortable operating as a shared resource across multiple projects.
  • Curious, empathetic, and detail‑oriented, with a strong focus on user outcomes.
Education
  • 4‑year Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
Travel
  • Willing and able to travel up to 20% to client sites for workshops, research, and collaboration sessions as needed.
