In addition to creating best-in-class experiences, the Senior UX Designer also mentor's teammates and partners closely with product, technology, research, and business leaders to ensure alignment with Macy’s strategic goals.

What You Will Do

Design Connected Journeys: Shape domain experiences that align with business goals and user needs, applying systems thinking to ensure end-to-end consistency across digital, in-store, and colleague-facing tools.

Conduct Discovery & Field Research: Partner with researchers and stakeholders to conduct in-store discovery, contextual inquiries, and phygital journey mapping that inform design decisions with real-world insights.

Architect Information: Apply information architecture principles to organize complex enterprise platforms, workflows, and content into intuitive structures that enhance usability and reduce friction.

Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work closely with Leads, Managers, Product Managers, Engineers, Researchers, and Store Operators to define, conceptualize, and design products and services that drive measurable impact.

Design at Multiple Altitudes: Move fluidly from big-picture vision (conceptual models, journey frameworks, service blueprints) to detailed execution (wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity comps).

Ensure Enterprise Consistency: Design consistently across platforms, including e-commerce, enterprise applications, store operations systems, and point-of-sale, creating a cohesive omni-channel user experience.

Mentor & Elevate: Coach and mentor UX designers, modeling best practices in design craft, systems thinking, and stakeholder engagement.

Validate with Data & Research: Use both qualitative and quantitative research, as well as key performance indicators (KPIs), to test, iterate, and validate design decisions.

Champion Inclusivity & Connection: Foster an environment of respect, inclusion, and authentic collaboration with colleagues, customers, and communities.
