Job summary

M.C. Dean is seeking an experienced technician for the Critical Power Group to maintain, troubleshoot, and service UPS systems and related equipment at high-profile sites.

You will work with batteries, power electronics, and power distribution equipment, performing inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance with minimal supervision. Travel to various job sites is required; you will provide technical support, interpret drawings, and ensure compliance with NEC and company safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in electrical and/or electronics from an accredited college or university, or equivalent training.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with UPS systems, batteries, testing equipment, switchgear, panels, breakers, ATSs, and generators.
  • Strong ability to read schematics and apply NEC standards; proficient with testing/inspection techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation and repair of static switch and PDU systems.
  • Conduct inspections and certifications of power electronics and controls.
  • Provide preventive maintenance and emergency service at government, institutional, and commercial sites.
  • Review drawings for accuracy and ensure compliance with maintenance requirements.
  • Coordinate on-site subcontractors and maintain safe, insured vehicles.
  • Prepare detailed field reports and provide customer training as needed.
