Job summary

ASM Research seeks a senior Unified Communications Engineer to lead design, implementation, and sustainment of enterprise voice, video, and collaboration services for federal operations. You will optimize UC in on‑premise and cloud environments, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

The role requires 8+ years in telecom/UC, hands-on experience with Cisco, MS Teams Phone, and Avaya, and the ability to obtain SECRET clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years in telecommunications engineering or UC in large enterprise or federal environments.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise UC/telephony platforms (Cisco, Microsoft Teams Phone, Avaya) including dial plans and conferencing.
• Experience monitoring UC performance and using monitoring tools to diagnose issues.
• Experience operating in secure federal environments and ability to obtain/maintain SECRET clearance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain enterprise UC solutions across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Monitor telecommunications/UC performance, analyze KPIs, and identify bottlenecks.
• Troubleshoot complex UC incidents with root-cause analysis.
• Develop standards, runbooks, and configuration baselines for UC platforms.
• Collaborate with network, security, infrastructure, and service desk teams on changes and upgrades.
• Produce reports and capacity analyses to guide improvements.
• Provide training and guidance on UC capabilities to customers and teams.
• Support compliance with federal security and privacy requirements.
