Utica National Insurance Group is seeking a Strategic Underwriting Consultant to serve as a senior technical underwriting resource, supporting regional profitability and portfolio performance. You will influence strategy, mentor teams, and collaborate with enterprise underwriting across product and PM functions.

This high-visibility role requires seasoned underwriting expertise, strong stakeholder influence, and a drive for operational excellence within a hybrid work model.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive commercial property and casualty insurance experience.
• Advanced underwriting expertise and strong portfolio management knowledge.
• Experience supporting profitable growth through underwriting strategy and risk selection.
• Strong understanding of commercial insurance products, pricing concepts, and financial drivers.
• Proven ability to build partnerships and influence outcomes across multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent advanced underwriting experience.
• CPCU, AU, or other advanced insurance designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive regional portfolio performance by supporting profitable growth.
• Provide advanced underwriting expertise on strategy, pricing, and risk selection.
• Support underwriting development through training materials and coaching.
• Partner on strategic initiatives with product, enterprise underwriting, and PM teams.
